It's true ! The best flavours and no frills to spoil them :-))
True to original recipies and strong flavours there isn't a single dish I've tried here that doesn't make you want to come back again before you've finished !
Although dining out has taken a huge diversion into entertainment, atmosphere, wifi access, lighting and kudos of venue the Dilshad stays true to the core of Indian restaurant basics. A small menu of all the usual classics, but cooked with so much flavour and intensity that being back in a small room, with almost 1980s decor from a stereotypical tv Indian restaurant vanishes as you eat. The food is the star !
Crispy Bhajis, succulent Seikh kebabs, scorching but flavourful Vindaloo, and even the cuts of meat and how they are cooked are all part of the magic.
Unusually I had a lamb Korma and noticed the meat to be well cooked to contrast the creamy sweet sauce. The novice or unaware could mistake this for the lamb being tough but any true aficionado of the culinary techniques of Indian cuisine would know why the man bread is 'slightly burned' or the garlic browned and not lightly heated as In Italian cooking!!
For a food and flavour experience with no distractions and waiters who 'just' serve and not act like the 'entertainers' of many new establishments of late, the Dilshad is still my favourite restaurant .... HIGHLY RECCOMENDED :-)))

In my opinion the best Indian restaurant / take away there is this side of Rusholme.
Its a tiny little place with the best food! The staff have been the same since I first visited when I was about 6, so we can have a laugh with them now and we go here so often we don't even need a menu - onion bhajis, mushroom masala, pilau rice and peshwari naan! Nom nom.....
There are plenty of other restaurants we have tried in the area over the years but none of them have ever pulled us back for more like the Dilshad.
The portion sizes are perfect, and we always leave feeling stuffed and ready for a nap :)
Like Loz.L says you can always take away your food if you don't fancy eating it.
A nice touch that this place has is that they send us a Christmas card! Oh and you get Murray mints with the bill :)

An excellent Indian restaurant. Food is delicious. We also like the order and collect service. Restaurant is cosy although can feel a little small when very busy, but we don't mind!!!!
